[As part of Governor Cuomo’s Green New Deal, New York State is embarking on a nation leading effort to transform the State’s energy economy and entire building stock to carbon neutrality by mid-century. To achieve the goals of the Green New Deal, New York State will require well-crafted long-term and near-term strategies, policies and programs. The Net Zero Buildings Fellow will play a significant role in the development and implementation of NYSERDA’s strategies for transitioning the building sector to carbon neutrality, including significant work on the following issues: deep energy efficiency including advanced envelopes and integrated mechanical systems, electrification of HVAC systems, smart buildings and building-grid interactivity, onsite renewable generation, battery storage, and integration of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.]
